Instead of wildly swinging at an enemy, you'll have to pick your angle, string together combos, and properly block, or suffer the consequences. You can use all sorts of weapons, including swords, daggers, and axes, each of which feels different during fights. That said, combat is one of the most difficult elements of the game, as it requires a fair bit of practice to master. For example, charismatic players may talk their way through conflict, while more aggressive players can choose to fight. Quests are designed to be non-linear, with multiple ways to complete objectives. As you make choices during dialogue and decisions in quests, your stats will change, occasionally offering new abilities. There are a handful of character classes to pick, including warrior, thief, bard, and more. The story and gameplay are all firmly placed in reality, encouraging players to use strategy instead of brute force. Unlike other popular RPGs such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you'll find no magic to wield or supernatural enemies to fight. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is all about immersion, offering players a world that is realistic yet challenging, where your choices matter.

Explore 15th century Bohemia with stunning realism. While some of its mechanics can be frustrating, this is an RPG unlike any other, that provides an excellent representation of the medieval era. Playing as a lowly peasant in a simple village who is thrust into a war to protect his homeland, you'll journey across the beautiful Czech Kingdom circa 1403. A foe without a helmet is just begging for a well placed strike on the head - or even an arrow to the face.Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a first-person RPG set in the Middle Ages that trades out fantasy for history, with an emphasis on realism in both its story and gameplay. You can also try to strike enemies where their armor is weakest.

However, heavily armored foes in plate can shrug off some sword attacks - and you may find better results using maces. Swords can get the job done for most light types of armor, as can Axes. You should also note the type of armor can factor into what type of arms you should use. Once you have mastered the art of blocks, you can then learn about riposting, which - when you position your weapon to the same side your opponent attacks, and block at the last moment, you'll be able to preform an automatic riposte that damages your opponent - which can sometimes be the only thing that can win the day. If you angle your weapon quickly, you can shrug off an attack without suffering damage (and far less stamina), and even position yourself for a counter attack before they can do the same. Here you will learn about moves like Perfect Blocks - and a new green shield icon will appear when an incoming attack approaches. Once you meet Captain Bernard at Rattay, it will be in your best interest to speak to him about advanced combat training. As you progress through the main story, you'll find that simple strikes and blocks won't suffice.
